REP. HUMASON OFFERS LEGISLATIVE INTERNS POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN WESTFIELD AND BOSTON OFFICES
Don Humason, Jr., Westfield’s State Representative, is seeking interns for his State House office in Boston and his district office at 64 Noble Street in Westfield for the spring semester. "One of my goals as Westfield's State Representative is to help connect citizens to their state government," Humason said. "By enabling college students to participate directly in the legislative process, I hope to inspire them to be involved long term with their government at all levels." The ideal intern is a college student who would receive credits for a structured internship experience. The positions are available starting in January. Unfortunately, internships are unpaid. “I make sure that interns in my office are actively involved in nearly every aspect of running the office; from researching legislation to tracking bills to reading newspaper articles to resolving constituent issues,” Humason said. “Interns will work directly with me and my legislative aide.” Democrats, Independents, and Republicans are welcome to apply. There are no party requirements. Preference will be given to individuals from Westfield. A resume, references, or writing sample may be required. If you or someone you know is interested in a Legislative Internship opportunity please contact Rep. Humason or his aide, Joe Wynn, at his Westfield office, telephone number 568-1366.
