KATIE BYRNE PARTICIPATES IN LEGISLATIVE INTERNSHIP

Katie Byrne, of Westfield, has been participating in an internship with Representative Don Humason, Jr. (R-Westfield).  Byrne was offered a position and joined the legislator's local office in February after meeting with Don and his Chief of Staff, Sarah Latour. 

“Katie has been an integral part of my staff this year,” Humason said.  “She is a terrific addition to my team and is serving the citizens of Westfield very well.”

Byrne, 20, is balancing her internship with classes at Westfield State College and a part time job at Open Arms Daycare.  She is a 2008 graduate of Westfield High School and is the daughter of Paul & Cathy Byrne of Westfield.

"I’m very satisfied with the progress of my internship," said Katie.  "I’ve learned a substantial amount about state politics and hope to continue pursuing a career in the political science field."
