BRANDON WELKER COMPLETES LEGISLATIVE INTERNSHIP

Brandon Welker of Westfield recently completed a three-month legislative internship in the Westfield district office of State Representative Don Humason, Jr. (R-Westfield).

Welker was offered a position and joined the legislator's local office in May after meeting with Don and his chief of staff, Sarah Latour. 

“Brandon was an integral part of my staff this year,” Humason said.  “He was a terrific addition to my team and has served the citizens of Westfield very well.”

Welker, 21, is a senior at the State University of New York at Cortland majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Global Political Systems.  In addition, he is a personal trainer at Fitness First.

"Throughout the duration of my internship I have enjoyed learning about the inner workings of the Massachusetts Legislature," said Brandon.  "Looking back, I have realized how much work and effort Representative Don Humason and Sarah dedicate to serving the citizens of Westfield.  I hope that someday I can be as much of a service to the community as they are."  

Welker is the son of Kurt and Paula Welker, of Westfield, and is a 2006 graduate of Westfield High School.
